October 06 Fill you InSo i haven't updated in a little while so heres the news... I am at Kings University College. I am in the MOS (formerly ACS) program. I am taking PoliSci, Economics, Business, MOS, and Math this year. The first week of the school year is called Frosh Week. During this week a group of people called Sophs help first year student gets settled in at rez and help them meet new people. Frosh Week for me was amazing... for the whole week i didn't drink at all. and it was one of the most fun weels ive ever had... i met so many new people and participated in almost all the activities that were availiable. At the end of O Week all the sophs and many frosh went to the ceeps for a long night of drinking. that was alot of fun... since then i have been back to the ceeps a couple times, been to the wave for a kings pub night, and been to a couple houwse parties. i was supposed to gfet really wasted on homecoming weekend but i ended up going to one of dads VDPs in Ilderton where i preceeded to pout tattoos on random women in... oh geez i sshould prolly keepthis pg... no knowing who's reading this.
Other news of interest... the hockey season has begun and i am doing many games... alot of which are midget games... liike the 2 man midget last night or the 2 man bantam the night before. so refereeing will kepp the money coming, booze will keep the money going and i will be drunk the whole time. anywho... its thanksgiving weekend and i am doing dinner at G'mas on monday night... lost of people coming... Mom, dad, jamie, dustin (maybe), betty, bruce, wendy, jeff, andre, emily, robert, nana, papa and myself. nana got a really big turkey for this festive occasion. so until next time...
Scott August 28 The Plan and The ExecutionSo Sunday was moms 50th birthday and my dad wanted to have a big surprise party for her on the saturday (my birthday). So he planned oput all the details and invited all the people while i was responsible for getting mom out of the house while the guest were coming. i got her to come pick me up in Belleville where i had been for 10 weeks and asked her to pick me up at 11:00. would have been fine... 4 hours there... spend alittle time here and there and then 4 hours home. BAM 6 oclock. But no... mom manages to show up at 1015 and has most of my luggage loaded in the car before i even know shes there. so i take my time getting out of there, we go to Starbucks an sit outside with a coffee. and the were on the road. i got her to stop for lunch at Milestones in Yorkdale mall and that took some time and then we wandered aimlessly around Yorkdale before she got mad and said lets go. back on the road i still had plenty of time to kill. why donb't we go to aviation world i said. so we drive around making wrong turns here and there until we finally found aviation world. BAM its customer appreciation day... IE good deals. so i spent some time in there and managed to kill maybe another 30-45 minutes. were still going to be early. i texted dustin and told him to get papa at his house and that we were going to go to his house before going home. we ended up getting to papas house at 5 which was ok because i can burn 45 minutes talking to papa. we did and ended up leaving papas closer to 6. we drove home and went in to the house to find 30 people standing in our home drinking yelling surprise. she claims that she knew all along but im not sure she really did. the party was fun, it was nice to see some of the people i haven't seen in a while. and then Dusitn, James, and Christy got ahold of mefor the rest of the night.
Happy Birthday to me, i had atleast 7 beer before i left the house and then they took me to the strip. we started at Jim Bob Rays where they fed me Beer and Rye and Coke. Then we went to Molly Blooms where we ran in to Laura Jones. James brought me a Snake Bite (Beer, Cider, and Grenadene). Up next was brad easter who bought me a Car Bomb (A Shot of Bailey's that you drop in to a Pint of Guiness). AaronMarino is around here to says Brad, so i find aaron and he gives me liquid cocaine (Gold Schlager, Yagermeister, and Rum) and a Keiths. By this time im so blind drunk that i barely recognize Warren Clause, Kat Eedy, Mike Marino, and Aaron's brother. There were some more beer in there and then a trip to Cowboys. I waqs so surprised that i actually got in to Cowboys becaue i was completely wasted. either way we got in there and i got a glass of water and then annouced that i was going to see if i knew anybody in there (many of my friends love country and "fall asleep to [my] dad"). I couldn't find anybody so i went back down to Dustin James and Christy who told me to go sit down. i did and ended up passing out. They Dragged me out side and thats where i lost it. Multiple times all over the ground. Dustin went and got me a big ass thing of water while christy went to the car and james helped me walk. we got home and i passed out in bed. Apparently some time in the night mom came into my room and i was puking... she said it was okay because had puked to.. i replied with a moan and returned to my birthday bucket. The next day was long hard and tiring, trying to stay up and all. But i survived my 19th birthday. WooRah...
Thanks to anybody who bought me drinks especially Dustin Christy and James who took great care of me.
August 19 CRGS Staff 06So Here we go... 9 weeks later and one week left to go... everything that was happening is almost cleared up...here at the Central Region Gliding School we spent the first 3 weeks training with the other 7 glider staff in order to learn our jobs and to work together. We ran ground crew for the Instructors Course aswell as for the Refresher course. new instructors did the 3 wek instructor course where they learn how to teach and then the refresher course is for those who are already instructors and can already teach. the begining of the 3rd week the 7 ITAC staff cadets showed up and that thrusday we choose the Warrant Officers for the camp. Congrats to WO1 Barstead (useless tool most of the time), WO2 Ross Baumann (Mostly useful tool), and to WO2 Yasney (Honory Doctor and cool guy). I had 2 cadets form my squadron here, Amanda Baptista and Derek Sparkes, both did very well and made me very proud. Amanda was in my flight which was nice and derek was in b flight...b stands for bozo. The summer went fairly well... we had 4 flight staff per glider flight... A Flight was Ross, Bonnie Chandler and myself. Bozo had Steve, Peril, Pam, and Will. Chandler ended up trying to sttrangle ross so he got sent home and we also sent home Dave Hunt (he was the guy i didn't like last year on power at DFC). Hunt gave his fellow fsgt the bird in front of the flight... and all in all he was a douche bag. Most of the kids in our flight were pretty cool... we sent 5 cadets and a staff cadet home. 1 for failing to many tests, 3 for flying reasons, and 1 because he lied about taking drugs. Our instructors were also pretty cool. Fab Medugno was our flight commander with Jen Schilt and Nick D'andrea as 2ICs. Adam Cosgrove, Danillo Jokanovic, Geoff Deska, Davis Appels, Lindsey Greffel, Matt McParland, Dan Parker, Chris Ditomasso, Steve Alexander, Adam Runge, Tyler Rowe, Rex Sutcliffe (Amanda's Instructor), Cadet Instructors Mike Behring and Leon Whytock, and there amy be a few more i just can't remember right now. I got a few flights over the summer... probably pretty close to 2 hours up to now... apparently in conversion week you can get huge hours. the has been a couple times where we went out to dinner all together, Ribs at Montanas, Crabby Joes, Swiss Chalet and a few others... good fun.
School time: I am now going to Kings COllege at Western for a Business type program. It has the Same first Year as the CAM program so if i work hard and get high marks i can prolly transfer into the second year of the aviation program. i will be living at homw and partying as much as i possibly can. thats all for now folks. i add more later.
Ciao
June 15 All Comes togetherAt the end of my last entry i indictated that the next entry would be about School, the Military, or Italy. This entry will be mostly about italy but i have some updates on the other 2 topics. Lets begin with the small stuff...Mom sent the 700$ cheque to UOttawa for my residence which basically means im going there... however that could still change.. we would rather i stay here as residence and fod etc is incredibly expensive. On sunday I leave for about 9 weeks at CRGS where i will act as a staff cadet. I am finished on the 26 of august (my 19th birthday) and mom will be driving me to ottawa around the 30th
Now on to Italy.... for those that don't know (or didn't up until the day i left)my Great Aunt Betty took me to Italy...this has always been a wish of mine and i enjoyed it very much. We started out on Sunday Afternoon in Toronto flying to Montreal-then Munchen (Munich Germany) and finally to Venice Italy. Montreal to Munich was a long flight however the business class seats which folded right flat in to beds made the time go by alittle quicker. Aunt Betty was restless and while i was sleeping she reached over (thinking it was her chair controls) and laid my chair out completely flat... waking me up. Once in Venice we got a taxi boat (Venice is all made up of tiny islands which are on Stilts coming from the ocean floor.. therefore there are no cars) which took us pretty close to the hotel and it was just a shot walk from there across St Mark's Square. Once at the hotel we took a nap (wehad been up for many many hours as the time change is 6 hours). After 2.5 hours of rest we got up and headed over to Piazza San Marco for a glass of wine before dinner. Dinner was At Alla Scala a nice little trattoria near the hotel. A couple stories that go along with the pictures from venice... First the Theatre... It's called Teatro La Fenice and betty has a painting of it in her house... it burned down at one point and it has now been rebuilt and bety wanted to go see it... easier said than done... you make a left turn here and then a right left right right 2 lefts and a right keep walking straight and when you can't go any farther turn around and your there. Did you catch that? me niether... and they guy giving us direction said it all in Italian... which was okay butheytalkreallyereallyquickly andunlessyourgoodyoucan'tkeepup. Now we had a map that kind of told us where it was so we wnadered around for about half an hour before we gave up and then accidentally stumbled upon it... for the recorded if betty had listened to me in the first place we would have found it alot quicker. the second thing that requires a explaination is the bridge of Sighs. Basically this is what happened... criminals are put on trail at doge's palace (left side of the picture) and then they are walked across the bridge of sighs in to the jail. the reasonit is called the bridge of sighs is because the last thing that they see is the beautiful canals of venice on one side and a beautiful viewof water (representing freedom) and a church on the other side. It almost like here's what you will never see again. The jail cells were tiny boxs made of hard cement with zero windows and i can't believe that people actually lived in these cells. Other notable things are the Hotel Cipriani on an island not far from St Mark's.. when mom went to italy this is where she stayed... beutiful hotel...Murano and Burano where they make amazing glass products...cups, wine glasses, chandeliers etc... And of course my favorite stop was Harry's Bar owned by Cipriani's and made famous byfamous stars who go in for a drink every now and then... the signature drink is a Bellini... peach juice and champagne... which is actually really good... at the end of Venice we took a taxis to the mainland where we got a car from Avis Rentals... funny story here too... when Aunt Betty call to reserve the car before we left she asked that the car be at the train station, the lady said no i have the address right here its in the middle of vennice?¿? remember how i told you venice had no cars... betty informed the girl of this and her only reply was... "Oh"... so when we got to the car rental place they told us the our Ford Fiesta
the way home was much shorter as betty managed to talk her way on to the direct flight from rome to toronto where mom and nana were waiting to bring us home... and that about covers the entire trip...any questions let me know...
Ciao For Now let you know if any thing else comes up but as of sunday i am in bellville. May 30 AnnualWow... congratulations to all the cadets... we all did amazing... Deputy Fire Cheif David Kitterman (a BX93 Listener) was very impressed by the squadron. Mr Ron Paton said he had never seen young cadets do so well... way to go guys. The band played amazing and the drill team was sweet as well. Congats to all the award winners... thank you to Brian, Kurtis, and Vanessa for a great job. and a Special Thank you to my DepCom Amanda who did an amazing job with the squadron and the drill team... way to go. Dad got back from surgery on the saturday and came in on the sunday to be our MC and he also did an excellent job... thanks to all. and to whoever left the comment about me and the band i believe there was a line somewhere from somebody that went "you better be able to come or shits gonna hit the fan and it'll be coming straight at you" or something to that effect... and if your the person who said that... well you know...
next entry will either be about school, ROTP, or Italy... May 22 British Columbiait was a cold dark morning... everyone in the house was... Dad drove mom and i to the airport.... and from there it was an adventure...mom and i flew out to calgary then to vancouver... we had some time in calgary to eat so we walked around tryiong to find a place... we ate a a nice little restaurant who used plastic knives (we were passed airport security therefore they can't have real knives...) on our way to our gate mom asked another restaurant what the drinking age was... he said 18 and that they had a "breakfast and a beer" special where you can get any breakfast and any beer for 5$... sweeeeet but we didn't have enough time... the flights were relatively uneventful... flight attendants trying to be funny etc... we got to vancouver got our bags and had to wait for 2 hours for Nana and Aunt Jeanie to arrive in vancouver and there we met my Great Aunt Jean... shes 89 and is my great grandmother's real sister... there is a whole story about my great grandmothers adoption etc... we all went out for lunchat Tim Horton's before aunt jean drove her 1991 Corolla with 300000kms to the ferry to drop us off... we took a 2 hour ferry ride from Twassen (vancouver) to duke point (vancouver island) where Jim and Diane met us... we drove back to there place and i finally saw my boys... (Aspen and Divot... 2 golden retrievers).
The next day jim and i went out to the boat, a 44ft Hunter with a blue hulll... beautiful little vessel, did a little work and a little cleaning bought a bbq and did some other stuff... while we were with jim and diane mom did her spa day that she got for mothers day, we all went sailing on their boat, i saw the largest private aquarium in north america (once they had an octopus that crawled out the open top of this massive aquarium... now they just have fish, crabs, starfish, etc), and i learned how to clean the side of a sailboat... i think i will si\tick to flying...
on the tuesday mom and i took the ferry from departure bay (vancouver island) to horseshoe bay in vancouver. and then the bus from the ferry termianl to UBC. we got there maybe 10 minutes before the choir did.we did 2 concerts in vancouver... one with an old mens choir (Chor Lione) and the other with a little boys choir (the BC Boys Choir).. both concerts were pretty good...we got to see Stanley Park, Prospect Point, Gastown Vacouver, a suspension bridge, and some beautiful scenery. our friend jen fleming lives in BC and we tried to get a hold of eachother but neither of us ever had our phones at the same time so we could never talk... life's a bitch isn't it? we then took the ferry from Twassen to Swartz bay (victoria) and there we spent the remainder of the trip...
as soon as we got on the bus we took a tour all over victoria learning about some stuff that i really don't care about... then they dropped us off down town and gave us 3 hours to eat and explore...the only cool thing that we saw was the victoria harbour VFR Terminal... apparently the busiest waterport around... they had 3 different airlines flying off the water one after another... it was insane...the "parliament buildings" were prreety cool too... we were only in victoria for 2.5 days and on the second day we were so busy with practice then concert then change then lunch then workshop we didn't really have anytime for anything until dinner... the old guys went out and got drunk... the old underage guys went to moxie's and the young guys went with all the chaperones to milestones... i happened to fit in to the old underage catrgory unfourtunetly... but we went to moxies... great restaurant... i think they have a rule went they are hiring... if your blond and look good in a strapless dress your in... which was great for us because we were all guys... either way... daaammnn... there were some girls sitting near us that want to know where we were from and inman jumped up and said were a choir from london... great... so after the one girl was done saying she is from london and asking whether we knew the stevensons (who the hell asks that? theres prolly hundreds in london)... they made us sing... the ten of us... in four part harmony... relatively well balanced sang Coney Island and we got cheers from the entire patio of the restaurant... i quickly hustled every body out the door before they asked us to sing again... once we got back we packed and played Euchre and watched tv till 130 then i went to bed... the plane ride home was fine and the car ride from london airport to my house was quiet... i got home drank a beer and went to bed...
the tour was really based around euchre... euchre in UBC, in Uvic, on the ferry, in the uvic mess, dorms, bus, airports, in the plane... it was quite fun indeed....
so that pretty well my account of my trip to BC and the next episode will be after Annual Inspection next Sunday.. ciao for now May 07 Yet Another UpdateSo i have been on here for a little while so here whats been happening since Ethan's "party" if thats what you want to call it... The drill team ended up getting 2nd in the region which is awesome and of course the beautiful Amanda Baptista got first for drill commanders. Woorah 862... Unfourtunetly I couldn't get Major General Paul Hussey for annual inspection but instead we have "DeputyFire Cheif David Kitterman". I haven't met him yet but apparently he's a nice guy... been a fire fighter since 1981 so thats got to tell you something... School... finished wheable with a final mark of 84% which brings my average upto 75% which i hope is good enough to get in to western but i still haven't heard... same deal with the military... no word... i think i am going to call tomorrow and see if they have heard anything.. my friend kevan sawyers has been accepted as a pilot through RMC so it should be coming soon... if its coming... band comp was yesterday... i went in with a sketchy attitude for 2 reasons... 1 they basically forced me to be in the band after Kyle Schepans quit on short notice... and 2 i wasn't sure if the band was ready to play in this type of competition... well they sure showed me i was wrong... we did awesome... all our songs sounds great and i think we placed relatively well too... but i will find that out later... and finally last night... it was Christmas Dinner at Aunt Jeanie's...WTF you say?... yeah i know... you see nana and papa are in florida for xmas and they usually can't get turkey at a restaurant so when they come home we have xmas dinner for them... it was excellent food and alo of fun... i leave thursday for vancouver... Jflem if your reading this let me know when your back in BC... hoipefully i will get to see Jen Fleming and im am also going to meet my Great great Aunt Jean.. who is my mothers Mothers Mothers Sister 6 times removed or something stupiod like that... but apparently these are long lost relatives that were miss placed back in the midst of adoptions and stuff... other attractions in BC are Jim Diane and the boys (Aspen and Divot
ciao to the world
